Rhoose has fishing from Rhoose Point, Dams Bay, Fontygary (Ffontygari) Bay.
Rhoose Point fishes onto very rough ground.
Dams Bay fishes onto varying degrees of rough ground, depending upon location.
Fontygary Bay is a shingle beach, fishing onto similar.
Fish include bass, smoothound, dogfish, pouting, pollack, rockling, cod, whiting.
To access Rhoose point and the west end of Dams Bay, drive past Rhoose railway station. Just after the level crossing, there is parking on the right and a path down to the point.
To access the east end of Dams Bay, park at the Rhoose end of Porthkerry Country Park, which is signposted from Barry. A short walk leads to the beach.
Fontygary Bay is best reached on by turning south off Fontygary Road in Rhoose, down the side of Fontygary Leisure Park. There is parking available, with care, towards the end of this road and a short walk to the beach.
