Fishing in Wales: Penarth Pier
Penarth has fishing from a beach, a pier, a marina and from several rock marks.
The beach stretches from the pier north to Penarth Point is sand and shingle, fishing onto a mixture of the same, with patches of mud and rock.
The pier is onto a clean bottom.
The harbour/marina fishes onto shale and silt.
There are rock marks scattered around, fishing onto mixed ground, depending upon their location.
Fish include whiting, mullet, cod, bass, conger, pouting, flounders.
For the beach and pier, at the end of the A4160 carry straight on, which leads to the pier. There is a good choice of parking except during peak periods.
To reach the harbour, follow the “Marina” signs.
