Porth Ceiriad
Porth Ceiriad Description:
Porth Ceiriad beach is shale at the top, with clean sand elsewhere. It fishes onto clean ground.
Fish include huss, wrasse, smoothhound, dogfish, gurnard, rays, bass, pollock, bream, codling, whiting, conger.
Go to Sarn Bach, which is signposted from Abersoch. Carry straight on through Sarn Bach, signposted “Cilan”. Travel down this road until Tair Lon cottages and campsite on the right. The next left leads down to Nant-y-Big farm, where there is payable parking. Take the path to the beach, which is accessible via a flight of steps.

“Go to Sarn Bach, which is signposted from Aberdaron” in the description would put you a good 10 miles away from Porth Ceiriad! There is a Sarn near Aberdaron.
What should be on the description is something along the lines of ‘go strait through Sarn Bach, which is signposted from ABERSOCH’
Then you have a chance.
Hope this helps.
Hi Dylan,
It helps a great deal! We’re really grateful for local knowledge such as yours. Thanks for taking the trouble to contact us.
Apparently it was a typo, which we have corrected!
Regards,
David
I tried plugging for bass here at high tide in the summer. I came away empty handed and floating, stringy weed was a bit of a problem. It’s a lovely spot though with a handy campsite nearby.
